Best and Worst Christmas Movies of All-Time... Reviews of TRON:Legacy and Black Swan

Happy Holidays everyone!

I hope all of you are doing well. I hope that finals went well or work is letting you have a few days off. I hope you all have wrapped up your shopping and are eagerly awaiting receiving gifts of your own, because we all really know that is what the holiday season is all about... Right? In the meantime this is "the most wonderful time of the year" with the Christmas spirit in the air, lights littering the streets and Clay Aiken's Christmas jams pumpin on the radio.
My favorite thing about the Holiday season are the Christmas movies. A lot of my holiday traditions center around holiday films. Every year my family and I get together and watch National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and laugh at the same parts, every single year. (And this year, I found it even funnier after the recent news with the Randy Quaid/"Hollywood Star Whackers" fiasco) On Christmas day, my best friend, his brother, and I always go see the big blockbuster release on Christmas night after we put in our family time. This year,  we will be skipping out on Gulliver's Travels (Why Jack Black... WHY?) and seeing True Grit... I am quite excited. Nothing says Christmas spirit better than Jeff Bridges running around in a western film shooting people with a musket.

So with that... I would love to wish you all Happy Holidays! I hope you enjoy my Best and Worst Christmas Movies of all-time!

Check out these movies that just came out

Black Swan- 4.5 stars
A simply amazing film. Natalie Portman shines and I feel like is a lock for the Oscar. Darren Aronofsky has given us some films like Requiem for a Dream and The Fountain that have really been challenging and what i like to say "mind-freaking." But Black Swan in my opinion is the perfect balance of Aronofsky's style and a coherent film.
This film will make you squirm, cover your eyes and feel really uncomfortable. I found myself many times during the film just wanting it to be over because I was so freaked out. But when it was over it was all I could think about.
This is a movie you will either love or hate. Fortunately for me, it is a film I absolutely love and will perhaps go down as my favorite movie of the year.

Tron: Legacy- 3 stars
Tron:Legacy is a fun movie. Really it is everything I wanted it to be. The 3-d is visually stunning, the action scenes are fun and the pacing of the film moves quick and leaves you never bored.
Jeff Bridges is the reason to go see this movie. In my opinion he is one of the greatest actors working now and in this cheeseball movie, he shines. Not often does an actor get to play the old hero and the young bad guy all in one film. He is great and just as cool as ever. Olivia Wilde is also suprisingly great. She is wonderful as her character and just as beautiful as always... Olivia Wilde... So pretty!
However, the film is far from perfect. Garret Hedlund is monotone throughout, the emotional moments of the film don't really click, and the climax of the film makes you kind of question why the movie even had to happen in the first place. You will understand when you see it.
But! The visuals and 3-d make it worth seeing. It is a fun film!
