Snowing today, 60 tomorrow!? You have gotta love Missouri. 3 seasons in three days, Spring, Winter and Summer. Missouri = A Bipolar Paradise.
Before I preview this week's releases I have to come clean. What better place to vent my issues than the internet so everyone can read and laugh at me.
I am starting to think that I may be going through MAN-opause.
Embarrassing Confession #1- I have been watching American Idol this season.
Embarrassing Confession #2- It has become an extremely emotional experience for me.
I am not proud of the fact I watch American Idol but I do. I will admit I was very skeptical with 75% of the judges taking off and especially Simon being gone But, I love a good trainwreck. So I watch. And it isn't terrible.
NOW to the point. The last two nights were the cuts to the final 24. And both nights have made me cry like the truly emasculate man I am. And there really isn't a worse feeling than sitting on your couch alone at 11 p.m. crying because someone's grandmother is "God Blessing" Ryan Seacrest. I don't understand it.
I am not a normal cryer during things. I was one of the guys that sat through The Notebook and didn't have one single urge to shed a tear. C'MON! You know what is going to happen from the first scene. Yeah it is all touching and sad and stuff, but I had the full 100 minutes to prepare myself and emotionally stabilize. American Idol does not allow me this time. So I have tried to investigate what has led me into this period that I like to call MAN-opause.
Potential Reason 1- The rainy, dreary weather
Potential Reason 2- Baseball season is about to start. I am a huge Kansas City Royals fan and the season hasn't started yet and the Royals are already 15 games out of first place.
Potential Reason 3- After effects of seeing I Am Number Four
Potential Reason 4- A case of Bieber Fever
But I think I have found just the right thing to solve it today... A terrible Nic Cage movie!
COMING OUT IN THEATERS THIS WEEKEND
Drive Angry 3D
Early Expectations= I hope this movie is so bad it's good. I am a firm believer that Nicolas Cage reached a spot in his career, let's say about 10 years ago, where he decided "You know what!? I am going to do whatever the hell I want," and since then we have seen a lot of terrible, terrible things added to his resume. Please watch attached video for proof and a good laugh:
Hall Pass
Early Expectations= To put it plainly, none. We will see. I am a big fan of Jason Sudekis and the fact he is from Kansas City, so I hope it doesn't make me hate him for choosing to do this movie. The Farrely Brothers have tried long and hard to duplicate the success of There's Something About Mary, I just have a feeling this movie isn't going to be it.
I will be back later this afternoon with my early reactions!
