Happy Friday!
I hope you have all enjoyed your week and the thought of the weekend being hours away brings light to your life. Yay for sappy ways to start the blog.
This is a rather interesting weekend at the movies. We have a questionably important remake, a film that is a self-proclaimed human anatomy joke, and an action movie that probably no one has heard of. Strange... if you ask me.
Arthur-
If you didn't know this was a remake, you should probably know that I don't like you. Ok, that was harsh and I didn't really mean it. The original is one of the classic comedies in film history. The film starred an amazing Dudley Moore and this version sees Russel Brand take on a rude, crude, rich man... Should be a stretch for him.
Early Expectations- My gut says this movie won't be good. BUT, a part of me thinks it could be decent. I am a very big fan of Helen Mirren and Russel Brand always does a few things that make me laugh. The film will have it's funny moments but I most look forward to the tender moments at the end.
Your Highness-
Disclaimer....The premise of this movie is idiotic. Danny McBride, star and co-writer of the film claims this film was made as a dare. He describes it as The Lord of the Rings meets a giant "male anatomy member" joke. Yep, I didn't say it.
Early Expectations- I expect this to be awful. I want it to be funny. But the accents are bad, the jokes from the trailers looked even worse, and I don't know if I am immature enough to sit through an hour and 45 minutes of anatomy jokes. Just don't know.
Hanna-
This action film has a solid cast and the premise looks very interesting.
Early Expectations- I love Cate Blanchett. In my opinion she is one of the best actresses working today so if she is in a film I am interested. Unless it's the latest Indiana Jones. I have a feeling this will be the best movie released this weekend.
