I take the "mixing" of the Wednesday Mix Tape very seriously because I have quite the expectations of myself when it comes to my music taste. It is very important to me that I impress and enlighten you all each week.
Well this week I am taking some risks. This is the first edition of the Expanding Your Horizons issue of the Wednesday Mix Tape. These are all artists you have either not heard of, have heard off and written off or just thought nothing about. So sit back, enjoy, and be enlightened (unless you are a hipster and already know all 4 of these videos... then I apologize.)
Ellie Goulding- "Lights"
If you are friends with me then you have probably heard me talk about this girl this week. Her voice is incredibly unique and I happen to find her very attractive. Hope you enjoy her as much as I do.
Wiz Khalifa- "Roll Up"
Yep... That is right I am putting Wiz in the mix tape. This might be the moment where you all stop respecting me. But I really enjoy this song.
NBC's The Voice- Niki vs Vicci performing Pink "Perfect"
This is a new show on NBC that is trying to rip off American Idol. However, the format of the show is creative and different enough from Idol that I really think it can succeed. When I watched this I had goosebumps, so now you can enjoy it for yourself.
Flaming Lips- "Do You Realize?"
I have been very lucky enough to see this band live twice. I have never seen anything like it. It is the most entertaining, energetic spectacle and it is something I recommend everyone see, no matter what you think of their music.
